Throne and Liberty Gear Upgrades
Upgrading gear increases its base stats, and sometimes enhances its extras. The value of these upgrades is determined by the tiers of gear, their requirements, and the number of random augmentations are made available.

Growthstones
In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to upgrade weapons, armor and other accessories. These are special stones which increase the level of an item by improving its stats or characteristics. Players can locate these items by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs located in the main towns. Contract Coin Merchants will sell them for a price. Moreover, players can obtain these stones by completing daily contracts.
To upgrade equipment players must first locate the item and then click the "level up button". The menu will appear showing the item's current level and what it will be after being leveled up, along with the required amount of Growth Stones to accomplish this. The number of Growth Stones required to upgrade an item will depend on its rarity. Rare (blue) rarer weapons will require more than one Growth Stone, while uncommon armor requires only one Growth Stone.
After selecting the item to upgrade the user must choose the number of Growth Stones that they want to purchase and pay the cost. When the requirements are met, the player can select the upgrade button to apply the Growth Stones to the item. The item will be upgraded in level by a specific percentage. The process will continue until the item is at its highest level.
Items that have upgraded stats will display a blue icon beside their slot. Upgrade components, unlike enchantments, cannot be applied to more than one item at a time. Furthermore each upgrade component will require a certain number of items to be added in addition to an initial amount for the equipment.
The Upgrade Station is divided into two slots. On the left side, players can place items to be upgraded. On the right, previews show what the gear looks like at its next level. Pressing the yellow arrow once the player has enough materials will start the upgrading process.
A piece of equipment may be upgraded up to five times. Each time it is upgraded, the base stats of the item will increase by a small amount. The maximum level of an item is 19.
